About OHT
OHT is a Norwegian based supplier of special heavy transportation services. Since 2006, OHT has been a leading company within heavy transportation, having routinely transported the world's most massive and largest structures. Today, OHT expands to cover special heavy transportation services to the ship transportation/cargo industry, the oil service industry, and the offshore wind industry, such as drilling rigs, offshore modules, and offshore wind farm foundations.
Through its wholly owned subsidiaries, the group currently owns five Heavy Transport Vessels. All are in operation.
In 2021, OHT will increase the capabilities of a new heavy-lift crane installation vessel to the fleet, currently under construction at China Merchants Heavy Industry (CMHI) facility in Jiangsu. The innovative Alfa Lift project of Ulstein design is a response to the increasing demand for efficient transportation and installation solutions within the offshore wind market.
In 2023, the first unit of two next-generation turbine installation vessels of GustoMSC NG-14000XL-G design is scheduled to be delivered and join the OHT fleet. They will be designed and built specifically to install the future-generations of offshore wind turbines and XL monopiles and will operate with significant reductions in their environmental footprints. The shipbuilding contract with China Merchants Industry Holdings has been signed in October 2020.
